The Sena Nautitalk Bosun is a lightweight communication headset designed for the maritime sector. It can be used with other Nautitalk or Mesh communication devices. The Bosun is worn as a headset with speakers on both sides. It communicates via the Sena Mesh Intercom Network and can connect to a phone via Bluetooth 5.2. The Bosun offers up to 20 hours of talk time.
The Nautitalk Bosun provides a communication range of up to 800 meters in open water. It has an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning it can withstand temporary immersion in water (up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes). Thanks to Advanced Noise Control technology, background noise is reduced, ensuring clear communication. The headset is made from UV-resistant materials, making it highly durable in sunlight.
What is the Mesh Intercom Network?
Mesh Networking enables nearly unlimited connections. It is a self-optimizing and self-healing network that constantly seeks the best connection and automatically reconnects when a device drops out. Mesh allows two-way communication, so there’s no need to press a push-to-talk button to speak.
Which version of Mesh Intercom does the Sena Nautitalk Bosun use?
The Sena Nautitalk Bosun uses Sena Mesh Intercom 3.0, making it compatible with a wide range of Sena products such as the Sena Nautitalk N2R, Sena Crew, and Sena Cast.
What is Open Mesh?
With Open Mesh, an almost unlimited number of users can communicate within a certain area. Because the headsets relay the signal between each other, the overall communication range can be extended.
What is Group Mesh?
Group Mesh allows for private sessions with up to 24 participants on a closed channel. There are 9 available channels in total, enabling multiple groups to communicate privately within the same area. Channels can easily be switched using the buttons on the headset.
Mobile Calls via Bluetooth
The Sena Bosun can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth 5.2. Once paired, you can make calls as you would with any other Bluetooth headset. For more detailed information on pairing and operation, refer to the included manual or quick start guide.
Hands-Free Communication with Full-Duplex Technology
Having your hands free on board or at work is just as essential as maintaining an open communication line. With Full-Duplex technology, the Sena headsets allow you to communicate hands-free—no need to press a button to talk.
Easy Control and Updates with the Sena Marine App
Connect the Sena Nautitalk Bosun to the Sena Marine App to customize settings to your needs. Adjust Mesh Intercom options, change channel frequencies, set speed dials, modify default volume levels, and more. The app also enables firmware updates, ensuring optimal performance at all times.
How Does Sena Headset Pairing Work?
Pairing or connecting headsets is explained in detail in the included manual or quick guide. Controls are operated using the buttons on the headset.
