The Versatile Sena Tufftalk M
The Sena Tufftalk M is an advanced hearing protection communication device with extensive connectivity options. It comes in two versions: a headset that can be worn without a helmet and a helmet adapter that fits any helmet.
With a Mesh connection, an unlimited number of people can join a conversation. The Group Mesh is a private connection that supports up to 24 headsets simultaneously.
With its Bluetooth intercom functions, up to 4 people can engage in a conversation. Thanks to the full-duplex technology, all participants can speak simultaneously without needing a push-to-talk button. It also offers hands-free communication, ideal for work environments.
Two mobile phones can be connected simultaneously. You can make calls and listen to music via a Bluetooth connection. The FM function allows you to receive, listen to, and save radio stations. Pair your Tufftalk M with the Sena app to get the most out of your settings.
Hearing Protection and Communication Solutions for Noisy Environments
The Sena Tufftalk M offers hearing protection while allowing communication in loud workplaces. The helmet-mounted communication set has a noise reduction of SNR -28 dB, while the standalone headset offers SNR -31 dB. The device is operated using the three buttons on the side.
What is the Mesh Intercom Network?
Mesh Networking creates nearly unlimited connections. Mesh is a self-optimizing and self-healing network, constantly seeking the best connection and establishing a new one when a device disconnects. Communication through Mesh is bidirectional, meaning there is no need to press a push-to-talk button to speak.
Which version of the Mesh Intercom Network does the Sena Tufftalk M use?
The Sena Tufftalk M operates on the Sena Mesh Network 2.0. To ensure compatibility, other Sena Mesh devices must also communicate using the 2.0 network. Newer headsets may need to be switched to an older version of the Mesh Network. If you currently own a Tufftalk M and are looking for a compatible headset, please keep this in mind.
What is Open Mesh?
Open Mesh allows nearly unlimited users to connect within a specific area. As the headsets communicate with each other, the signal is relayed, extending the range.
What is Group Mesh?
Group Mesh supports private sessions with up to 24 participants on a closed channel. There are 9 different channels available, allowing 9 groups of people to communicate securely within the same area. Channels can be switched during work using the buttons on the headset.
Bluetooth Intercom The Tufftalk M features a 4-way Bluetooth intercom for connecting with Sena's Bluetooth-enabled devices. It can connect directly with up to 3 other headsets, enabling a group conversation among 4 people.
Can a Bluetooth Intercom be Established with Non-Sena Headsets?
The Sena Tufftalk M cannot connect to other brand headsets via Bluetooth Intercom. However, users of other headsets can use a Sena MeshPort Red to connect their headset to the Mesh Intercom system and communicate with an unlimited number of users.
Hands-Free Communication Thanks to Full-Duplex Technology
Workplaces require open communication lines for safety reasons. Being able to respond without pressing a button is essential, especially for those operating heavy machinery. Sena addresses these needs with full-duplex technology, allowing people to talk hands-free, eliminating the need to press a button as with walkie-talkies. This enables simultaneous two-way communication.
Mobile Calling via Bluetooth
The Sena Tufftalk M headsets can be paired with two mobile phones simultaneously. If connected to Mobile A, you can still receive a call from Mobile B, putting the previous call from Mobile A on hold. Once the call with Mobile B ends, the headset automatically switches back to Mobile A. Additionally, there is a speed-dial function for setting up to 3 phone numbers, allowing quick access to frequently dialed contacts.
Listening to Music via Bluetooth
Listen to your favorite music from your mobile phone or another Bluetooth connection through apps like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer, or others. With the share function, you can even share your music with other headset users.
Listening to FM Radio Channels
The FM function allows you to search for, listen to, and save radio stations.
Walkie-Talkie
The Tufftalk M does not have a walkie-talkie connection!
Easy Operation with the Sena Smartphone App
Connect the Sena headset to the smartphone app to customize your headset. Change available settings such as the Mesh Intercom channel frequency, set up speed-dial options, program FM station presets, adjust the default volume, and many other options depending on the type of headset. This ensures optimal performance!
How Does Sena Headset Pairing Work?
Pairing/connecting headsets is thoroughly described in the included manual. Please read it carefully, as the controls are managed via the buttons on the headset.
Expand the Mesh Intercom Network with the MeshPort
Three types of MeshPorts are available to expand the Mesh Intercom Network: MeshPort Red, Blue, and Black, each with its own application.
The MeshPort Blue is used to connect non-Mesh Bluetooth devices to the Mesh Network. Connect your Bluetooth headset to the MeshPort Blue, which then connects to the Mesh Intercom Network, allowing you to communicate with your colleagues. Additionally, the MeshPort Blue has a repeater function, enhancing the existing Mesh network in areas with poor coverage.
The MeshPort Red is a solution for remote connections. Pair a mobile phone with the MeshPort Red and place it within the communication area. This allows someone to call the mobile phone from a distance and join the Mesh intercom network from anywhere in the world! Additionally, the MeshPort Red has a repeater function, enhancing the existing Mesh network in areas with poor coverage.
The MeshPort Black is a solution for older Sena headsets that do not yet support the Mesh Intercom Network. Pair the MeshPort Black with your old headset to join the Mesh Intercom Network. The MeshPort Black does not have a repeater function. MeshPort devices are controlled via a separate app on the mobile phone
