The Gravity S is an elastic fall arrest lanyard from the brand Kratos. Its relaxed length is 140 cm, and it stretches to 200 cm when fully extended. The Gravity S features a carabiner (gate opening 22 mm) on one end and a scaffold hook (gate opening 60 mm) on the other.
The shock absorber reduces the impact force of a fall to below 6 kN. When this occurs, a special section of the lanyard tears, revealing a label that reads “NOT OK.” This indicates the lanyard has been deployed and must no longer be used.
A 45 mm wide polyester webbing sleeve protects the elastic band. The shock absorber is made of polyester and polyamide, while both the carabiner and scaffold hook are made of aluminium. The total weight is only 1.01 kg. The maximum user weight is 140 kg. The Gravity S meets the EN 355:2002 standard.
