FTC Friction ring 2
This friction ring from FTC is available in three different sizes. The small ring (#1) is primarily used for redirects. The large ring (#3) is commonly used as a main anchor point. The medium ring (#2) is suitable for both redirect and anchoring applications.
Friction is a major advantage during lowering operations. Allowing loads to be lowered in a controlled manner not only improves safety for the climber but also for the ground crew and the surrounding environment. Achieving the correct amount of friction is essential. That is why the FTC Friction Ring is available in three different sizes.
This is the FTC Friction Ring #2
The Friction Ring #2 measures 70 x 35 mm. It is suitable for ropes with a maximum diameter of 20 mm. The internal opening has a diameter of 28 mm. The ring weighs 136 grams and is made from aluminium. Complies with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
The ring can be configured in two different ways:
- Option 1: Both ropes pass through the inner ring. In this configuration, the ring has a minimum breaking strength of 135 kN and a working load limit of 27 kN.
- Option 2: One rope passes through the inner ring, while the second rope runs through the outer groove. In this configuration, the ring has a minimum breaking strength of 260 kN and a working load limit of 52 kN. This is the strongest possible configuration.
