Harken pulleys and rigging at Safety Green

Harken - pulleys and rigging from the world of sailing

Harken is an American brand that became known worldwide for high-quality pulleys and blocks for sailing. The same technology and reliability are applied by the brand through Harken Industrial for rope access, rescue and working at height.

For arboriculture, Harken's pulleys, blocks and rigging equipment are especially relevant. Thanks to years of experience with smooth-running ball-bearing blocks under high load in sailing, the brand delivers equipment that is efficient and durable when hauling and moving heavy loads. Harken's industrial division translates that knowledge into products that meet the demands of professional work at height.

The origins of Harken

Harken was founded in the late 1960s by brothers Peter and Olaf Harken in the American state of Wisconsin. What began with designing ball-bearing blocks for sailing boats grew into a leading manufacturer of sailing hardware active at the very highest level, up to the America's Cup. From that expertise the company later founded Harken Industrial, aimed at rope access, rescue and industrial applications, strengthened among other things by acquisitions of specialist rescue brands. From its headquarters in Pewaukee, Harken continues to apply its knowledge of mechanics and load to reliable equipment, both on the water and at height.
